Win Cookies for Breakfast Sample Box from Erin Baker's

Remember that Bill Cosby skit where his wife makes him get up in the morning to feed the kids and get them off to school so that she can stay in bed for a little bit more sleep? He wanders downstairs half asleep and spies the chocolate cake on the counter. He comes up with the brilliant idea to feed the children chocolate cake for breakfast and of course, they're thrilled. After all, what's in chocolate cake he asks? Eggs and wheat! Must be good for breakfast right?
Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies, Oatmeal Raisin, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped Cookies (Pack of 12)
Well OK maybe chocolate cake isn't that great for breakfast despite the eggs and wheat. But, the Breakfast Cookies from Erin Baker's are good for breakfast or any other time! Erin Baker's mission is to handcraft and bake to order in small batches with simple, wholesome ingredients… promising homemade freshness, flavor and quality.

Their original breakfast cookies are baked with heart-healthy whole grains and sweetened with fruit puree. They contain protein, antioxidants, fiber and complex carbohydrates which makes than the ideal choice for a healthy breakfast. Each cookie is individually wrapped so they work perfectly for breakfasts on the go. Just toss one in your handbag, briefcase or backpack and you're set for a healthy breakfast while on the run.

Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookie Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk, Vegan, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped Cookies (Pack of 12)Original Breakfast Cookies are available in Fruit & Nut, Chocolate Chunk Raisin, Peanut Butter, Banana Walnut, Morning Glory, Double Chocolate Chunk, Oatmeal Raisin, Mocha Cappuccino, Caramel Apple, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Vegan Chocolate Chunk, and Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk. You can eat the Breakfast Cookies straight out of the package or if you want a warm breakfast, they can be prepared in the toaster as well.  I love them straight out of the package.  The cookies are moist and lightly sweetened.   I really loved the Oatmeal Raisin Breakfast Cookie. It honestly tastes just like a cookie that I'd have for a snack and I loved knowing that it was healthy enough to be considered breakfast too.  The Caramel Apple Breakfast Cookie was delicious too.  Although I don't eat chocolate for breakfast, my husband assured me that the Double Chocolate Chunk Breakfast Cookie was amazing too.

Their products contain expeller pressed oils, all natural ingredients, omega 3's, antioxidants, natural fruit purees and handmade goodness.  They never contain high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, artificial colors, artificial flavors, hydrogenated oils or artificial additives. The Breakfast Cookies also make great snacks for the kids.  Toss one in their lunchbox & they'll never know what they're getting is actually something that's good for them.  Erin Baker also offers granola and brownie bites. The Brownie Bites disappeared as soon as the kids saw them & from the speed they were eaten, I'd say they were delicious!

Win 3 Cookie Mixes from May Cookie

One of my fondest memories of when I was a child was coming home from school and smelling the scent of fresh baked cookies coming from the kitchen. I never knew what type of cookie Mom was making. It might have been oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodles, ginger cookies or the most coveted chocolate chip cookie. I just knew they'd be waiting for me with a big glass of milk when I got home.

I still love the taste of fresh baked cookies but I don't have as much time as my mom did when I was little to bake. Some days I'm lucky to have enough time to make sure my house doesn't look like a hurricane just whipped through it (or a UPS hub drop off point). On those crazy days, I turn to healthy mixes as the base for my cookie creations.

Not all cookie mixes are created equal. I want a cookie that's as close to homemade as possible. I want something with the ingredients in it that I'd use if I had the time. I don't want to look at the ingredients and find weird sounding chemicals and artificial ingredients in there.

The cookies from May Cookie have exactly the same ingredients in them that I'd use. That doesn't surprise me since they're made from a Mother/Daughter team.  They use raw sugar and a combination of whole wheat and white flours. They're all natural and delicious and they're made in the USA. You can buy three different types of cookie mixes Oatmeal Cranberry, Triple Chocolate Chip Oatmeal and Chocolate Chocolate Chip.

In each mix, there are pre-measured packets to keep everything as fresh as can be and make it very easy to prepare.  Packet 1 is natural raw sugar.  Packet two is the flour mixture.  Packet three is the additions (chcocolate chips, cranberries, etc.).   If you'd like to see exactly what's in each one, you can check out the ingredients for each product on their website.

These mixes are so easy to use.  I whipped up a batch of Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies first thing in the morning so I could enjoy the aroma of fresh baked cookies all day.  All I needed to add was butter, egg and vanilla.  They took only a few minutes to prepare and pop in the oven.  The box says that you can get 24-30 cookies from the mix but using my Pampered Chef cookie scoop, I got 33.    I love that they use raw sugar & use less sugar than many mixes.  They have a real homemade taste not that sickly sweet taste that some cookies have. Marty smelled the cookies baking and was in the kitchen in a few seconds waiting to sample them.  He said to tell you they're delicious and wants to know when I'm making more.

You can purchase May Cookie mixes from a variety of stores.  Check their store locator to find one near you.  Connect with them on Facebook & Twitter for all the latest product news.
