Shaun the Sheep: The Big Chase available on April 19!

There's nothing that attracted my son when he was young more than a car. Even better than a car, a super fast, shiny car! Actually, I'm fairly certain thats still the case.

Well with Shaun the Sheep: The Big Chase arriving on DVD April 19, you can enjoy all the hilarious antics and adventures from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment. From big races to big chases, bikes and boats and everything in between, your favorite friend Shaun the Sheep shares some of his favorite adventures.

There are seven episodes on this Shaun the Sheep DVD.  On "The Big Chase", Timmy drives off on The Farmer's new quad bike and Shaun, Bitzer and the flock give chase.  Can they rescue Timmy before The Farmer finds out?

On "Bitzer from the Black Lagoon", Bitzer falls into a muddy pond while trying to retrieve his ball. When Shaun sees a big, blobby, shambling thing squelching across the field, he's convinced they are being attacked by a swamp monster.

During "Zebra Ducks of the Serengeti", two hapless ducks that are covered in soot are mistaken for a pair of rare African Zebra Ducks. Seeing a way to make money, The Farmer transforms Shaun's field into an exotic duck sanctuary which he opens to the public.  Shaun wants his field back and goes about exposing the fraud.

Bitzer thinks that The Farmer is planning on replacing him on "Bitzer's Basic Training" and he decides to get in shape with Shaun's help.  Unfortunately, he goes completely over the top with his training and starts running the farm with military precision.

On "The Magpie", a magpie has nested in the big tree and is causing chaos by stealing everything around the farm.  the magpie's nest soon begins to fill up with treasure and Shaun has to come up with a brilliant plan to outwit the bird.

On "The Boat", The Farmer gets Bitzer to help him renovate an old boat, but as soon as his back is turned, the sheep and pigs turn the refurbishment into a swashbuckling game of pirates.

On "Hide & Squeak", a cute mouse appears in the farmhouse and terrorizes The Farmer. Pidsley the cat is ordered to dispose of the rodent.  When the mouse takes refuge in Shaun's fleece, the flock persuades him to protect their new found friend from the pitiless cat.

DVD bonus features include the Mini Making of Shaun video and Timmy's Tune #1. This DVD has a total of 45 minutes of play time.  What a great way to welcome spring!

DVD Review & FREE Coloring Sheet: Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Easter is almost here and it's time for one of my very favorite Easter cartoons! Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail is an original TV classic Easter cartoon. I remember watching it when I was a little girl and I remember watching it again when my children were little. Heck, I remember watching it last year! There's just something about the way that Danny Kaye tells the story that makes this cartoon a timeless favorite.

I can still see old Iron Tail the bunny plotting against Peter as he tries to become the #1 Chief Easter Bunny for April Valley. I just love that movie! I can still sing the fun songs word for word from the movie. This year, the movie has been remastered in high definition for an even better experience to share with your children.   This is one of those movies you'll want to watch each year even when your kids are a little older.  I know in our house it always brings back good memories. You just cannot resist tapping your feet along with the music. This movie is just as much fun as when it first came out in the 1970s!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail is released by Classic Media and runs for 51 minutes total. DVD Review: 'Twas the Night Before Easter & FREE ecard puzzle!

Broccoli, celery, gotta be... you guessed it Veggie Tales! OK you caught me. I admit it. I'm 44 years old and totally addicted to Veggie Tales. I love everything about them. They're cute. They're healthy. They're fun. They have cool music and best of all they're Christian!

Is your child totally caught up in the chocolate Easter bunnies and brightly colored Easter eggs. Is that the only thing that they think of when you say the word Easter? If you answered yes to that question, I highly recommend you introduce them to Veggie Tales 'Twas the Night Before Easter.

It's Easter time in Crisper County and reporter Marlee Meade is looking for a way to help others. She hears that the old theater in town may be shut down and decides to save the stage and make a difference with musical theater. She puts together a show with costume clad townies, huge props and a giant 20 foot tall robot rabbit when she creates Up with Bunnies. When she finds out that celebrity Cassie Cassava is going to be singing at her church's Easter service, Marlee starts to worry about how successful her Up With Bunnies show will be and she looses track of the real meaning of Easter. I absolutely love this movie. It's a wonderful addition to your Easter movie collection and teaches a valuable lesson without the kids even knowing it.

Happiness is a Warm Blanket DVD

I cannot tell you how many times I have watched my favorite Charlie Brown movies over and over again as both a child and an adult. I could probably recite the lines from It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown by heart. Charlie Brown movies are just some of my very favorite cartoons. Well guess what? There is an all new Charlie Brown movie for you to watch and share with your kids! I had no idea they were even making new Charlie Brown movies so I was psyched when I found out!


The newest movie is Happiness is a warm Blanket, Charlie Brown and it was released by Warner Home Video on March 29.   If you've been watching Charlie Brown movies for a while, you'll remember that each character has their very own special quirks about them.  Schroeder plays the piano.  Lucy is bossy. Linus has his blanket. Well this new movie is all about Linus and his blanket.  In this movie, he finds out that his Grandmother is coming to visit and doesn't approve of his blanket.  Everyone decides to help Linus get rid of his dependence on his blanket before his Grandmother arrives and takes it away.  Lucy plays psychiatrist.  Charlie Brown tries to help but cannot stand to see Linus unhappy. Snoopy is just his typical mischievous self.  At the end of the movie, Linus and everyone else learn a very valuable lesson about security blankets.

Even though this is a new movie, it has the same feel as the older movies.  The characters are just as funny as I remember them and the original look is the same as well. Also included on the DVD are these special features: Happiness Is...Finding the Right Voice, 24 Frames a Second: Drawing and Animating a Peanuts Movie, Deconstructing Schulz: From Comic Strip to Screenplay, and Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown - Deleted Scene. Total playing time is 46 minutes.

Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster DVD

Warner Home Video released Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster on Blu-Ray Combo Pack and DVD on March 1. Appearances are made by Ted McGinley, Nichelle Nichols, Marion Ross and more! The new release features the extended film version with never-before seen music sequences.

In Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster, the Mystery Inc. gang is heading toward their summer jobs at a country club owned by Daphne's Uncle. But they get involved with some strange happenings around a local lake including an enormous Frog Monster that's terrorizing the locals. Of course, there's a mystery too and Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are on the case.

The kids and I really loved this movie.  It's got all the classic good times of the vintage Scooby-Doo cartoons but it's mixed with current actors and has an updated look to it. Like the classic Scooby-Doo, I never have to worry about content and I know it's going to be hysterical and keep our interest through the whole thing.

There may be two feet of snow outside but I really want spring to be here. Lionsgate must totally understand how I feel because they are bringing to DVD on February 15th eight adventures to 'spring' a smile to your face! Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures on DVD February 8th!

I'm all for family friendly programming. So many television programs for kids star smart mouthed, bratty kids and that's not what I want my kids watching. I love classic TV programs from when I was younger like Tom and Jerry. Warner Home Video has released Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures on DVD and it's available in stores on February 8th.

Tom and Jerry travel through time in Guided Mouse-ille, to Europe in Neapolitan Mouse and  to outer space on O-Solar Meow.  You can meet Tom's scaredy-cat cousin George in Timid Tabby and watch Jerry come up on top time and again in Pet Peeve, That's My Mommy and Robin Hoodwinked. Also included are Barbecue Brawl, Happy go Ducky, Hic-cup Pup, Little Quacker, Rock n Rodent, Pup on a Picnic and The Vanishing Duck.

Like all of the Tom and Jerry cartoons, each focuses on Tom trying to catch Jerry. They're fun. They're totally family friendly.  They'll make you laugh over and over again whether you're a child or an adult.
