KioKio Launches at Anthropologie!

When I was little, I had an amazing imagination. Rather than running around outside like some kids, I would sit underneath my favorite weeping willow tree down near the river and daydream. What I daydreamed about would vary depending on what was going on in my young life. But what was usually fairly constant was that the fact that I was anywhere but the United States.

I was generally on a mysterious island somewhere with exotic plants, animals and birds. I lived on the beach in a grass hut and spent the hours during my idyllic days picking fragrant flowers and watching brightly colored birds fly from tree to tree. That was much more exciting for me than going to school and riding my bike.
Well as I grew older, I had less and less time to spend daydreaming under the weeping willow tree but I never lost my love of exotic islands. I've despaired of ever actually getting to visit an exotic island but I can still steal away a few minutes to daydream here and there.

KioKio gives me the opportunity to enjoy the scents of New Zealand in their new line of body care products. KioKio has soap, body lotion, body mist, body cream and body wash products available in four different exotic scents.

Pacific Tiare & Ti Kuaka - White flowers and citrus combine in this sparkling Pacific Ocean fragrance. Sweetly scented Ti Kauka is naturally cleansing and nurturing for the skin.

Rainforest & Koromiko - Fragranced like a morning walk in the forest after it has rained. Koromiko renews and smooths stressed skin.

Citrus Petal & Tarata - Fresh, clean and uplifting. Tarata was traditionally used as a perfume in thermal pools to revive tired muscles. The Tarata tree has sweet, lemon scented leaves and flowers.

Frangipani & Puriri - Frangipani's rich, heady perfume infuses the air with its warm tropical notes. Puriri gives balance and tranquility.

I recently had the chance to try the body mist and body lotion in the Pacific Tiare & ti Kauko scent and WOW is all I can say. I have absolutely no idea what a Pacific Tiare or Ti Kauka is but they smell amazing.  It's a very light, floral scent that is not at all overpowering.   Reminds me sort of a slightly more floral version of lilac.  Really fantastic scent. Goes on smoothly & is quickly absorbed to leave your hands very soft.

All of the KioKio scents are free from parabens, mineral oils, petrochemicals, silicones, artificial colors, PEG, DEA, TEA, etc.  They are not tested on animals. The packaging is uncoated and uses water-based dyes to ensure full recyclability. The unique rare botanicals featured in the products are “wild harvested” and only leaves that can be removed without damaging the plants are used. I love this!

New Zealand’s eco-conscious body care collection launches on Anthropologie’s e-commerce site on May 13th, just in time to kick off the spring season.

Win a Limited Edition Scandle Travel Tin Candle

At the end of a long day, one of the first things I look for is a few moments to gather my thoughts and relax. A warm fire in the wood stove, a flickering candle on the entertainment center, a hot cup of tea and soft music all set the stage for a little bit of peace in my life after the kids have headed up to bed. That type of setting gives my overworked mind a little bit of time to relax. I can close my eyes, listen to the music and smell whatever scent is coming from my candle.

Scandle Candles aren't your average candle. First, they smell amazing and come in a wide variety of scents from Lavender to Sage and Citrus to Warm Vanilla Sugar. There's something for everyone no matter what your preference. Second, they burn at two degrees lower than your traditional candle so that they can be used to hydrate skin as a lotion or during massage. You can even use it for a soothing manicure or pedicure!

Now that spring is here, you can enjoy their Limited Edition Fragrances: Lily of the Valley and Japanese Cherry Blossom! Available in their Dead Sea Salt Soak and Scrub too! I'm really enjoying the Lily of the Valley.  I used it for a pedicure and the warmth of the lotion felt so nice on my hands.  I love knowing that it's made from 100% natural ingredients. It left my hands feeling so soft.  I really loved the scent of the lotion too and how it lingers on your skin.  Lily of the Valley is one of favorite scents and we'll have a bunch of them outside in another month or so. This would make a wonderful gift for Mother's Day! What mom doesn't deserve to relax and be pampered a little bit?

You can connect with Scandle on Facebook & Twitter to keep up with the latest scents.

Win Celadon Road Body Lotion

I'm sitting two feet away from a roaring wood stove as the temperature drops outside into the 20s. It's still winter here in Vermont and we heat almost exclusively with wood. I love our wood stove. It's sustainable and affordable and does a wonderful job at heating our whole house. I love everything about our wood stove except for one tiny little thing.... it makes my skin as dry as the Sahara desert!

Just about every room in my house has hand lotion or body lotion in it. I use it constantly because it's the only way I can keep my skin even remotely hydrated. I consider myself a bit of an expert on hand and body lotions because of this. I'm also very particular about the body lotions I use. They need to do more than smelly pretty. They need to restore some serious moisture to my skin.

Celadon Road offers a variety of green products to promote healthy, responsible, social living. One of the things you can find at Celadon Road is a full line of body care products including body lotion, conditioner, shampoo, lip balm, soap, and more!  I recently had a chance to try out the body lotion from Celadon Road.  This body lotion is certified organic, naturally crafted, sustainably grown and uses therapeutic grade essential oils.

When I first saw the body lotion by Celadon Road, I was immediately attracted to the sleek brushed silver look of the dispenser bottle.  It comes with a handy pump dispenser and the bottle itself can be refilled so that it can be reused with a different lotion, soap, etc. or it can be recycled.  This really does look much more stylish than the typical plastic bottle or tube that many body lotions come in.  I love being able to reuse containers because it means there are less things ending up in the landfill or the recycle center.

All it took was a single pump of body lotion for me to notice the amazing citrus scent of the Celadon Road Body Lotion.  Ingredients include things like certified organic lavender hydrosol, comfrey root, lavender flowers, certified organic tangerine essential oil, lemongrass essential oil, lime essential oil, organic aloe vera and grapefruit seed extract just to name a few.  So you can see by the ingredients where the amazing citrus scent comes from.

The body lotion smoothed on well and had a very creamy feel to it.  It was totally absorbed into my skin without any tacky or greasy feeling left behind.  I could immediately tell how soft and smooth it made my skin feel and the scent had a nice staying power so that I could continue to enjoy it even after the lotion was rubbed in. It really worked well to leave my skin feeling soft and smooth throughout the day.
