Abby Johnson was raised in a Christian home with pro-life beliefs. She went to church twice a week and was part of a close, loving home. She went off to college at Texas A&M after high school and enjoyed freedom much like any other college freshman would enjoy. She met someone and got pregnant. Feeling lost, she simply accepted his recommendation that she get an abortion.

She remembers back over the feeling of emptiness and uncertainty that she had during and after the abortion. She remembers her boyfriend's casual acceptance of it and the fact that they never discussed it again. Back at college, she again got pregnant and because her relationship with the baby's father was ending, she chose another abortion. A little while later, at college she came across a Planned Parenthood volunteer table where they were seeking volunteers to help at a local office. She was drawn to the hot pink colors and the dream of helping women who needed help.

This is her story. It's her story of volunteering at Planned Parenthood and what she saw there. It's the story of her success as she rose through the corporation to become a clinic director. It's the story of her awakening as she began to realize that some of what Planned Parenthood was doing wasn't to help women. Like any other corporation, the bottom line was a profit.

She shares with the viewer how she felt when she was informed that Planned Parenthood was going to be doing late term abortions. For those that don't know, these abortions are surgical and are done later in a woman's pregnancy and are much more controversial. I won't get into the details. Honestly, when I watched that section on the DVD, I was in tears. Suffice it to say that Abby Johnson shared with viewers the fact that what she was told as director to pass onto women considering a late term abortion & what she actually saw on the fetal monitor during a late term abortion are not nearly the same. This was the turning point for Abby Johnson and it was at this point that she knew she could not continue to work for Planned Parenthood.

Unplanned is a truly an amazing movie. You'll see how she struggled with her own choices and find out why she made the choice she did. I think every teenager should watch this movie before becoming sexually active and I think every woman considering an abortion should watch this.

I love to snack during the evening while I'm watching television with my husband. I love all of the different tastes available from chips but I don't like the fat, artificial ingredients and cholesterol that go along with eating some traditional snacks.

Now I've tried nuts in the past and they're OK as a snack but the traditional honey roasted flavor really didn't wow me. I want something bold that's going to grab hold of my taste buds and get my attention.


When I heard about the three new flavors offered by Sahale Snacks, I new I had to try them. The new line includes:

1. Barbeque Almonds with Mild Chipotle & Ranch - Whole almonds seasoned with a proprietary "dry rub" spice blend, accented with tangy buttermilk ranch, then slow roasted to a smoky, spice-sweet perfection.

2. Southwest Cashews with Child & Cheddar - Whole cashews topped with a dusting of grated Cheddar and Jack cheeses and blended with Poblana and Guajillo peppers, then slow roasted, for a spicy, crunch snack.

3. Tuscan Almonds with Parmesan & Herbs - Whole almonds coated with a blend of Tuscan herbs, grated Parmesan cheese and sun dried tomatoes.

These are a great substitution for chips and other salty snacks! Nuts have more nutrition and also provide a good source of fiber, protein and beneficial poly- and mono-unsaturated fats. The first nut I sampled was the Tuscan Almonds with Parmesan & Herbs. I'm a huge fan of parmesan cheese and I knew when I first placed this snack on my tongue that I was in for a treat. The mix of Tuscan herbs, sun dried tomatoes and parmesan cheese was amazing. I was convinced that I just bit into a slice of pizza although I knew these were nuts I was enjoying. If you're craving pizza, you need these nuts!

Since barbeque potato chips are one of my weaknesses, I knew the next on my list to sample was the Barbeque Almonds with Mild Chipotle & Ranch. When I first tasted the almond, the sweet barbeque flavor was the first thing I noticed. However just a second later, the heat from the chipotle came through. The ranch flavor drew the two tastes together into one amazing package. These are definitely the nut to choose when you're craving a barbeque taste!

The last package, I admit I looked at for a while and contemplated. I don't do super hot foods. I choose mild all the way and the word *chili* on the front of the bag had me worried.  I gave this one to Marty with instructions to let me know how hot they were.  He took one, popped it in his mouth & declared it was *not hot at all*.  Reassured by his words, I grabbed two and started chewing. He lied.  These are definitely hot. Not fire shooting from your ears hot but definitely hotter than mild. He still insists these aren't hot although now he's giggling at me so grab this one when you're craving something with a kick.

My *ideal* home looks like something out of a decorating magazine with sparkly clear surfaces and open spaces.  Sadly I don't have an awful lot of those in my house but I have realized that some of my *stuff* is important to me because it lets me pursue hobbies I enjoy.
