I know I do this regularly and then I get frustrated when my home doesn't look like that no matter how hard I try.

The authors offer suggestions on what you can do to determine your priorities. I love that it shows you real life examples and what worked for other people. I love that it suggests delegating since this is something that I really struggle with. It also helps you understand why you have the priorities you do and urges you to decide whether or no those priorities are doable. Just because it works for your friend or your sister does not mean it's going to work for you.

There is also an entire chapter on clutter.  Clutter is a HUGE problem of mine.  I just like doing so many different things that I have tons of stuff everywhere.   It doesn't help that our home is 1500sf and lacking in closets. All my clutter is right out in the open compared to someone who has lots of closets to hide things in. My *ideal* home looks like something out of a decorating magazine with sparkly clear surfaces and open spaces.  Sadly I don't have an awful lot of those in my house but I have realized that some of my *stuff* is important to me because it lets me pursue hobbies I enjoy. I'm try to learn to accept that type of clutter as opposed to a pile of laundry, magazines, recyclables or dishes that need to be dealt with.
