Miessence Certified Organics

I'm very careful about what I put on my skin. I don't want to use a lot of artificial ingredients and chemicals. They're not good for my skin or for our environment. Miessence products are USDA and ACO (Australian Certified Organic) certified organic to the highest international food standards. Miessence has been certified organic since 2002, making it the first extensive line in the market place to meet this standard.

Miessence products are designed for four different skin profiles: normal combination, dry mature, oily problem and sensitive. Each skin profile has its own cleanser, conditioner and moisturizer that uses herbs specific to each skin problem.

I received a single use sample of each product (3) in the soothing sensitive skin profile. Sensitive skin can feel irritated, itchy and hot. It can appear blotchy and may have flaky patches. Allergic reactions are more common in sensitive skin and it becomes flushed and red easily. This is 100% accurate for my skin type.

A few of the herbs used in the sensitive skin products include organic chamomile (antimicrobial, calms, soothes), organic horse chestnut (decongests, drains broken capillaries, strengthens), organic St John's wort (moisturizes, astringent, refreshes, tones), organic witch hazel (drains, astringent, anti-free radical, protects), carrot seed (regenerates, tones, heals), German chamomile (anti-bacterial, wound-healing, pain relieving), and organic rose hip seed (regenerates, moisturizes, heals).

Since water is the primary ingredient in many cosmetics, some manufacturers are claiming to use organic hydrosols, or floral water, to green wash their products and make organic label claims while using the same synthetic toxic ingredients that would NEVER be allowed in organic food products. They believe this practice has the potential to destroy the integrity of the organic name.  Miessence is currently one of a few skin care products on the planet that has submitted to, and complies with, the rigorous processing and labeling requirements for certified organic food products.
