You may remember that I recently upgraded my computer to include Windows 7. I had all my older version files transferred from my old computer to my new computer. I was really worried that some would be missing or they wouldn't transfer but it went off without a hitch. I just left my computer with Staples and using the Windows File Transfer, they transferred everything over. When I got my new computer home and got it all set up, I checked to make sure everything was there & it was. All my documents, spreadsheets, music and pictures were there and worked perfectly with my new computer. Windows makes my life so much easier!

Windows has a number of features that I really appreciate. Windows 7 lets you see a thumbnail of each open window by hovering your mouse over the icon. It then shows you a thumbnail so you can click on or close the appropriate one. I love this. It's so much easier than randomly clicking things to find the window you want.

I also noticed how much quicker Windows 7 connects than my previous version. I used to have to wait and wait and wait for everything to load and connect but now I don't have to do that. I appreciate that speed a lot. It seems like I always have too much to get done and not enough time to do it in and this lets me sneak in a few more things. It also comes out of hibernation mode much more quickly. That's when your computer goes to sleep because you're not using it. It's a great energy saver!

I also appreciate that it's much easier to manage my portable devices with Windows 7. I used to have to plug in a device like my MP3, Flip Cam or digital camera and then tell it what to do with it so that I can get my files. Now, it recognizes the device and only gives me the options that are available for that device instead of a huge list of options that may or may not have worked. For someone who isn't hugely technical, I really appreciate not having to try to figure out what will and won't work.
