Review & Get $3 off L'Oreal Sublime Mousse with this coupon

When I was younger, I thought that gray hair was for *old people* and I thought I'd be in my fifties before I ever found a gray hair on my head. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who found her first gray hair at a much younger age! I was twenty-seven when I found my first gray hair - after the birth of my first child. I was horrified. How could I possibly have a gray hair this young?

It was at that point that I made my first appointment with the hair salon to have my hair highlighted and it's a pretty much bi-monthly appointment that I continue to make. The gray hairs didn't stop at one and I remain firm in my resolve not to have gray hair. Now I just help hide it a bit more.

To be honest, I never considered coloring my hair at home. I worried that the color would look fake or I'd end up with green hair or something. I worried that it would be a huge mess. I worried that the fumes from the ammonia would be unbearable. I resigned myself to paying $80 every couple months to cover up my gray but the madness has to stop! With the economy the way it is, I decided I would try to color my hair at home.

I wanted something easy to apply that would leave my hair healthy, shiny and natural looking. I did a lot of research and chose L'Oreal Paris Sublime Mousse. I went with L'Oreal because it's a company that's been around for a long time and I've tried a number of their shampoos and styling products in the past and always been pleased with the quality.

I went with the Sublime Mousse because it looked easy to use and offered a shade near what I wanted which was #70 Pure Dark Blonde. Basically, you just massage in the mousse like you would shampoo. You don't have to part your hair or separate parts of your hair or do anything difficult at all.

Wearing the included gloves, you add the colorant to the bottle and screw on the foaming pump. You rotate gently to mix it up. Your hair needs to be dry, untangled and unwashed so I did it before bed. You put the mousse in your hand using the pump and spread it throughout your hair starting at the top. Saturate your hair completely and leave it on for 30 minutes. Then still wearing the gloves, you add a little warm water to your hair and lather it through your hair. Then rinse till the water runs clear. After that, you saturate your hair with the enclosed conditioner and leave it on for two or three minutes before rinsing your hair with warm water. You style and dry as usual and you're done.
I have to say this was extremely easy to do and I am totally happy with the results.  I may choose a slightly lighter shade next time although Marty loves this color. The solution has a slightly fruity scent to it instead of the horrible ammonia scent I was expecting and it was so easy to do with more than enough solution!  I plan on doing this again the next time I notice my gray hair shining through.  I love the shine the color has and I can even see natural looking highlights in it. It's so much more affordable than a trip to the salon!
