Chocolate makes the world go around. Or at least if it doesn't, it should. I love the taste of a good piece of gourmet chocolate. I love the way it melts in your mouth and provides an instant sense of well being and comfort. I don't want just any old chocolate. The kids can keep the stuff from the grocery store. That type of chocolate just doesn't speak to me the way the more adventurous tastes of gourmet chocolates do.

As much as I love chocolate, I don't let myself experience it very often because it's so high in calories. It's just way too easy to sit down with a candy bar or bag of chocolates and eat more than I'm supposed to. These are chocolate tastes that I had honestly never considered. I received six ChocoPods to try out. All but the Leche had a base of dark chocolate. The Leche was plaint milk chocolate. The Oscuro was plain dark chocolate. The Panko had breadcrumbs and sea salt and was similar to a crunch type bar in texture. It was a delicious combination of sweet and salty. The Honeycomb was a combination of dark chocolate and caramelized honey. This was really delicious. There were sort of flecks of caramelized honey throughout the chocolate that gave it a very pleasant taste. Firecracker is made of premium dark chocolate, chipotle, salt and popping candy. The Spicy Maya is made of premium dark chocolate, pasilla chile, cayenne pepper and cinnamon. This is a very unusual taste with a bit of a bite in it. For those that love spicy foods, these are the ones you need.
