Win a Spring Cupcake Package from King Arthur Flour!

I absolutely love to spend time in the kitchen while I'm baking. To me, baking isn't work, it's a creative process. It's a way to let me be creative and do something nice for my family. I just don't get the same sense of fun when I'm making meatloaf for dinner.

Making cute cupcakes is a huge craze right now. I've seen some absolutely amazing designs on television that I would love to be able to create. I just don't have that kind of talent sadly but don't despair. With King Arthur Flour's cupcake supplies, you can make spring tulip cupcakes all by yourself!

I've relied on King Arthur flour for years. It's my preferred brand of flour because I know I can count on the quality. The last thing I want to do when I'm baking is use lower quality supplies. The taste and texture of your baked goods depend on the quality of the ingredients you start with.

I was lucky enough to receive cupcake supplies from King Arthur Flour so I decided that I would make some spring themed cupcakes. I started with a box of All Natural Golden Vanilla Cake Mix. This is a traditional buttery, moist, golden cake that is ideal for layers or cupcakes. There's enough in the package to make 20 to 24 cupcakes.

I also received a package of Vanilla Buttercream Frosting Mix because after all, what are cupcakes without frosting? Now I'll let you in on a secret. I don't make my own frosting. There I said it. I always rely on those little tubs of pre-made frosting. For some reason, making frosting has always intimidated me. This frosting was very easy to make and reminds me of the fluffy white frosting you find on bakery cupcakes. Yummy!

Now I like my cupcakes to be bright spring colors and that requires the addition of food coloring. King Arthur Flour has gel food colors that really give your frosting a bright, bold look.  Isn't this pink cool! To make these cupcakes a special spring treat, King Arthur Flour also provided a package of white tulip papers! These pretty white papers make your cupcakes look just like flowers! I made the cupcakes in my silicone liners & then simply dropped them (frosted) into the tulip papers. Very easy and it makes them look like I spent way more time on them than I really did.

I think the final product came out pretty cute don't you? They're bright and colorful looking.  The cupcakes were moist and the frosting came out just perfectly!  These came out way better than using some of the store bought cake mixes I've used in the past and I love knowing that they're all natural.
