I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter. I had a bazillion questions about what was happening, what to expect, what to think, etc. I searched through tons of books looking for answers but always felt that there was something missing from the medical type books.  I wanted a book that combined what was happening to me emotionally with what was happening to me physically. I wanted something that combined my faith with my changing body.

Your First Year of Motherhood is just that book.  There are 366 inspirational stories that will make you smile, laugh and sometimes cry.  At the top of each page is a Bible verse.   At the bottom of each is a short prayer or thought that relates to the story.  The stories are organized roughly in the order that pertains to the baby's age so stories you'd read in the first 30 days might be most inspiring for someone with a month old baby.

The back of the book has a chapter on Special Concerns that has thoughts on postpartum depression, taking your baby to church, preventing loneliness, keeping your marriage healthy and other topics.  There is also a listing of Bible verses that apply to moms and babies as well as an index that lets you look up inspirational stories by topic.  This is definitely a wonderful book for the new or expecting mom.  I wish it was around when I had my first baby!
