I cannot tell you how many times I have watched my favorite Charlie Brown movies over and over again as both a child and an adult. I could probably recite the lines from It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown by heart. Charlie Brown movies are just some of my very favorite cartoons. Well guess what? There is an all new Charlie Brown movie for you to watch and share with your kids! I had no idea they were even making new Charlie Brown movies so I was psyched when I found out!
The newest movie is Happiness is a warm Blanket, Charlie Brown and it was released by Warner Home Video on March 29. If you've been watching Charlie Brown movies for a while, you'll remember that each character has their very own special quirks about them. Schroeder plays the piano. Lucy is bossy. Linus has his blanket. Well this new movie is all about Linus and his blanket. In this movie, he finds out that his Grandmother is coming to visit and doesn't approve of his blanket. Everyone decides to help Linus get rid of his dependence on his blanket before his Grandmother arrives and takes it away. Lucy plays psychiatrist. Charlie Brown tries to help but cannot stand to see Linus unhappy. Snoopy is just his typical mischievous self. At the end of the movie, Linus and everyone else learn a very valuable lesson about security blankets.
Even though this is a new movie, it has the same feel as the older movies. The characters are just as funny as I remember them and the original look is the same as well. Also included on the DVD are these special features: Happiness Is...Finding the Right Voice, 24 Frames a Second: Drawing and Animating a Peanuts Movie, Deconstructing Schulz: From Comic Strip to Screenplay, and Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown - Deleted Scene. Total playing time is 46 minutes.
Check out this video clip for a sneak peak!

Win Jovial Foods Organic Einkorn & Gluten Free Cookies
There's nothing that calls to me more at the end of the day than a cookie along with my cup of chamomile tea. For me, that's the perfect snack ending after a long day. I don't want just any cookie out of the cookie jar. The kids can keep those. I want something special and that's a step above the rest. Jovial Organic Einkorn & Gluten Free Cookies are crafted in the Veneto region of Italy by passionate artisans, these cookies transport you on a sensorial journey to an authentic Italian bakery.
Now you may be like me and never have heard of Einkorn before. I'm pretty fluent in alternate flours but this one was new to me. Roughly 12,000 years ago, mankind transitioned from hunter-gatherer and started farming so they could stay in one community. The first crop they chose to domesticate from the wild was called Einkorn, the original species of wheat. Pretty neat, huh?
There are three varieties of Einkorn cookies offered by Jovial Foods: Ginger Spice, Checkerboard and Crispy Cocoa. I had the opportunity to try the Ginger Spice Einkorn Cookies and I'm so glad I did. First they're organic, so I know I can trust the ingredients and the manufacturing process. They're not an overly sweet cookie which makes them the ideal choice for adults who are looking for something different than what's in the kid's cookie jar. They have a very delicate ginger taste with a crispy outside. They're delicious alone or dunked in a cup of tea or glass of milk. Einkorn is much more nutritious than modern wheat so each serving contains 3 grams of protein. Einkorn is genetically pure because it has never been hybridized. It's exactly as nature intended it to be and I can trust that it hasn't been messed with by scientists.
Of course, since Einkorn is a type of wheat, it's not gluten free. If you're gluten intolerant, don't worry, Jovial Foods has a selection of gluten free cookies as well! There are three varieties of gluten free cookies from Jovial Foods: Fig Fruit Filled, Chocolate Vanilla Cream, and Chocolate Chocolate Cream. We had the opportunity to try the Gluten Free Fig Fruit Filled cookies from Jovial Foods. They are both gluten and casein free as well as organic. Each cookie comes in an individually wrapped package of two. I love this because they're ideal to put in lunch boxes for the kids or to tuck in my handbag of a snack on the road.
As much as I am into healthy food, I sometimes have issues with whole grain and alternative grain pastas. I really do not like my pasta to taste gritty at all. It just ruins the dish for me. I wasn't sure what to expect when I tried the Einkorn Whole Grain Spaghetti. It's a whole grain pasta and is also higher in protein than traditional pasta. That means it leaves me feeling full instead of hungry again after dinner. We had it with spaghetti & it was absolutely delicious. It wasn't at all gritty in texture and we enjoyed it a lot.
Jovial Foods products can be purchased at a variety of natural and whole food coops. You can also find them at your local Whole Foods stores. Check out their store locator. You can connect with Jovial Foods on their blog, Facebook or Twitter to keep up with the latest product news. They have some really yummy recipes on their blog!
One of my lucky readers will win two of their own boxes of cookies! Here's what you can do for a chance to win:

Scrabble Flash from Hasbro!
Scrabble is one of my all time favorite games. I have fond memories of playing Scrabble with my Mom as a child. I used to love creating words even when my first words were of the three letter *cat* variety. Eventually, my love of the game encouraged me to use larger and longer words which encouraged my use of the dictionary which encouraged my love of reading.
When my kids were young enough to read and make their own words, out came the Scrabble board so I could include them in my favorite game. All good things change eventually and now there's an electronic version of my favorite favorite game. The latest Hasbro toy is Scrabble Flash. The tiles know when you make a words and they change letters on every turn and keep score too!
Scrabble Flash includes 5 electronic letter tiles and a storage box. It's made for players age eight and up and can be played by one or more players. I love that this version can be played alone! I hated it when, as a child, I couldn't find anyone to play with. There are times when the kids need to be entertained and I am just swamped with things to do. This is a great game for them to play because it's fun and educational.
David13 is my official board game tester so we decided to give this a try. Each person takes turns making a five letter word with the five electronic tiles. You move the tiles around until you have the word made. It beeps at you when it recognizes the word. If you are successful, it displays NEXT and the turn passes to the next person. If you're not successful, it displays OUT and the turn passes to the next person. The tiles are 2"x2" and made of white and red plastic. They are *smart* tiles which means they communicate with each others. The word database it uses is based on the official Scrabble website. There are 3 different game variations you can play depending on how many people you have and how difficult or easy you want the game to be. You can play with all five tiles or make it harder and use only four tiles. All of the tiles & the directions fit perfectly in the little black plastic box.
I like the variety the game offers. You can form a bunch of different words so for example you can form PANTS and then remove the S and make PANT. You can make ANTS and then remove the S and make ANT. Then you can move it around and make TAN and PAT and TAP, etc. and so forth. At the end it tells you how many points you got & how many you could have got which is really neat except when it tells you that you got 10 and could have gotten 27. Then you just feel silly.
I really like how easy this is to store. All the tiles fit neatly into the little black box and it's easy to bring along with you to a friend's house or to play at the park or wherever you have a flat surface. There's no more tiles falling all over the ground or loosing the Q. I also appreciate that the batteries are included with the game. David likes that it can be played alone on those days when he's bored and wants something to do to entertain himself. Definitely a great addition to the game closet!

Nintendo DS Review: Naruto Shippuden Shinobi-Rumble!!
After defeating Hidan and Kakuzo (the assassins of Akatsuki), Naruto Uzumake returns to Hidden Leaf Village to train and strengthen his abilities for the next battle. Sasuko Uchiha becomes more powerful learning under Orochimaru and he hopes to defeat Itachi Uchiha in battle.
As you begin the game, across the bottom screen are the options Story, VS Battle, Personal Battles, Special Missions, Summoning and Extras. In Story, you will play Naruto and fight a series of predetermined battles interspersed with dialog scenes based on the Naruto Shippuden story. There are 21 different chapters in the story and in each battle you win gets you further along into the story. In VS Battle, you can battle wirelessly with up to three other people.
In the personal battles section, you can fight as your choice of one of sixteen characters including Naruto and Sasuko. Each character has a different fighting style and you will fight a series of ten random personal battles with the character of your choice. If you can win the final special battle, you'll see a unique dialog scene for the character you chose. Mastering personal battles also earns you summoning marks that can be used to unlock new characters and stages.
In special missions you can chose one of three scrolls that will allow you to earn stamps if you win the battles. If you meet all the conditions of the mission, you earn that mount of stamps on a bingo sheet for the character you chose. If you earn enough stamps to complete a row, you unlock a new ability for that character. The more stamps, the more difficult the mission will be.
The fighting in Naruto Shippuden Sinobi-Rumble takes place on the top screen. There are three modes the game can be played in (easy, normal and hard). The bottom screen contains the icons for secret and ultra techniques that you can use while fighting. The top screen also contains information on your character's name, stamina gauge, chakra gauge and player number. There are three stamina bars (red, yellow and green) and they change color based on how much damage the character has taken.
As you fight, you fight both in the air and on the ground using the control pad and the a, b, x and y buttons. During the battle, there are items you can touch by jumping onto them or running through them that will help you regain stamina or increase abilities. A bowl of ramen noodles will help you recover stamina. Food pills help you recover chakra. A Katana (sword) increase your attack power temporarily. A shield increases your defense temporarily. There are also traps you can run into like a poison jar that drains your stamina, a paper bomb that explodes sending you flying and a light ball that reverses your controls.
The graphics are about what you'd expect from a manga type game. They remind me of Pokemon cartoons I've seen. The characters move easily with the controls and having an easy setting allows you to get used to how the controls work. Naruto Shippuden Shinobi Rumble uses autosave throughout the game. If you choose New Game when you've already created saved data, it will be overwritten. You can advance through the dialog by pressing the A key. If you want to skip the dialog completely, you have that option as well which is great once you've played a level a few times and don't want to read the same dialog over and over. You don't use the stylus at all during the game. The play is done entirely by the control pad and the buttons on the game. Defnitely a great game for teens who are attracted to manga. Both of my teens enjoyed playing this and have chosen it as one of their favorite games. It's fun to play and not so difficult that you can't advance through the levels slowly. While there is animated violence, there's not a lot of blood and gore like you see in some teen games. The action and dialog are interesting and fast paced enough to keep your attention. This one has my thumbs up.
Naruto Shippuden Shinobi-Rumble is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB for Cartoon Violence, Mild Blood, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes.

How do I keep my family happy? #FarmRichSnacks
It always seems to be the moms job to keep the family happy. That isn't any different in my household. I try to do my best to make sure that everyone is happy by keeping life running smoothly.
Both of my children have ADHD and they tend to function best when life has a bit of a routine. They like knowing what to expect at home and I've found that things settle into a comfortable routine. We try to plan meals about the same time each day. We have a general schedule that everyone understands and we try to stick to it. Right after school we have a rest and relax time where they get to talk to my husband and I about what happened at school or what's going on in their lives. After that we encourage them to start their homework. My 17 year old is pretty much independent when it comes to school work but my 13 year old needs more hands on attention to keep him focused and on track. Once homework is taken care of we can focus the rest of the evening on dinner and fun time whether that's television, video games or family fun. They enjoy knowing that these are constants that they can count on happening regularly.
My husband is disabled so there are some things that he needs help with and much of the typical tasks involved in running the home fall to me. It makes him happy when the house runs smoothly so I try to make sure laundry is done, menu plans are created, shopping happens on a regular basis and the cupboards are stocked with foods everyone enjoys as well as *quick* food that he can prepare on nights I'm not around. I know it doesn't sound all that glamorous but when the background work is taken care of smoothly, the rest of the time we can focus on having fun together as a family.
A lot of the work of making my family happy probably occurs behind the scenes and doesn't get noticed. I'm sure that if I all of a sudden stopped taking care of it all people would notice and things would run a lot less smoothly. I know that they appreciate it even if they don't seem to notice what I do. To see the smiles on their faces at their favorite meals or snacks or realizing I remembered their basketball shoes even though they forgot is enough for me.

Repechage Hydra Refine One Minute Mask @repechage
Sarah17 is a huge fan of facial masks. She suffers from the typically oil skin that many teenage girls suffer from and she often uses masks to help her complexion. Many masks for oily skin treatment require you to sit around for 15 minutes while they dry which in a busy teenage girl's life can seem like forever. Repechage Hydra Refine One-Minute Mask is a fast-acting, triple treatment mask that deep cleans, absorbs oil without drying and exfoliates your skin in only one minute.
Hydra Refine One Minute Clarifying Mask fights oily skin, purifies and balances the skin's pH. It was specifically created to cleanse, minimize oily shine and flight blemish-causing bacteria without the negative effects of stripping and drying the skin. You can use it before your shower or any time your skin needs refreshing. It improves skin clarity and color.
Featured ingredients include laminaria saccharina seaweed (to fight oil oxidation and hydrate your skin), lemongrass (anti-bacterial and anti-fungal), lily of the valley (protection against acne causing bacteria), cucumber (to soothe and cool), rice bran (a gentle exfoliant) and licorice and mulberry extracts (to bright your skin and improve clarity).
The Repechage Hydra Refine One Minute Clarifying Mask has a fresh, clean scent to it that was very pleasant. You simply massage gently onto your face in the shower and then rinse off. Sarah17 said it left her skin feeling soft and not at all dry. She definitely enjoyed the shorter time needed by this mask compared to the ones that make you leave it on for 15 minutes. It's difficult to say what the long term results will be from the sample size that we received but she is definitely enjoying it so far. I would encourage you to try it yourself.
Repechage professional skin treatment is offered at top spas and resorts around the world. To locate a spa nearest you, log onto www.repechage.com or call 1-800-248-SKIN. The Hydra Refine One Minute Clarifying Mask for normal to oily skin can also be purchased from Amazon.

Win Natural Pesticides from EcoSmart
My children think I've lost my mind... they're quite certain of it. Last night, I was peacefully making myself a cup of chamomile tea. Everyone was relaxing in front of the television enjoying quiet time as the evening wound down. Suddenly I let out a blood curdling scream from the kitchen and my husband came running to see what the matter was. Note that the children did not move from the television.
There was a huge moth attacking me in the kitchen... OK he wasn't attacking me (although I wouldn't put it past him). He was however flying in my face... or at least he was pretty darn close to my face. Now I am not a huge baby and I didn't scream on purpose before you all think I've lost my mind too. It's instinct. I hate bugs. I've always hated bugs. I can remember my sister tormenting me when I was a child because I hated bugs.
I'm one of those people who covers themselves with bug spray before going out in the summer. I go after flies and wasps in the house with a vengeance. Heaven forbid an ant is sighted on my counter. They don't stand a chance in he** of surviving for long in this house. I will go after them with pesticides in a heart beat.
Of course, being the eco-friendly girl that I am, I look for natural pesticides that are safe for our pets and kids. As much as I hate bugs, I'm not using anything toxic in my house or around the yard. Natural Pesticides like the ones from EcoSmart are the perfect solution!
I received the Safe Picnic Value Bundle which is a collection of insect repellents and natural pesticides. The Safe Picnic Value Bundle includes Home Pest Control (24 oz spray bottle), Flying Insect Killer (14 oz can) and Insect Repellent (Two 6 oz bottles). It has everything you need to protect your home or your picnic area from flying and crawling insects. They even have natural cockroach killer! Thank heavens we don't have those in Vermont!
EcoSmart's Flying Insect Killer is safe to use around children and pets. It kills fast and there are no harmful residues. It's even organic and it won't harm the environment. It's made from a patented blend of organic plant oils and kills bugs fast without any synthetic toxins or harmful residues. The Flying Insect Killer works on flies, gnats, mosquitoes, moths and other flying insects.
EcoSmart's Home Pest Control is for indoor and outdoor use. It kills and repels over 100 home invading pests and is safe to use in all areas of your home including kitchens! It's non-toxic and totally safe around children & pets. It has a fresh natural scent and is meant to be used on ants, beetles, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, fleas, millipedes, pantry pests, pillbugs, silverfish, spiders, sowbugs, ticks and other crawling insect pests. Just wait till those ants try to get in my kitchen this summer!
The Safe Picnic Value Bundle also includes two bottles of their EcoSmart Organic Insect Repellent that keeps away mosquitoes, ticks, gnats & more. It repels for hours and is deet free! I love that this bundle contains two bottles of insect repellent! Both my kids spend a lot of time outside in the warmer months. David13 meets his friends and wanders uptown to hang out at the school, walk to the library or shoot basketball. It's several miles to town so he takes along a back pack with snacks, water and of course insect repellent! Sarah17 hangs out at the lake with friends and needs to have her own backpack of stuff since they certainly won't share insect repellent or anything else. Now they can each have their own!
All of the EcoSmart products have a fresh, natural scent not that overpowering chemical scent you find in many products. Since Sarah17 and I both have asthma this is something that we really appreciate! Plus I don't want to expose my cats to something nasty for them to get into either!

Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara
When both of my children were born, I remember gazing into their eyes and thinking what unbelievably gorgeous, thick dark eyelashes they had - yes even my son! To this day, Sarah17 has the most amazing eyelashes and has no need to wear mascara to accent them. Unfortunately, they got that from their father and not from me. I have short, stubby, practically invisible eyelashes. They require constant application of mascara if they want to be seen. I hate them. Seriously. I can't tell you how many mascaras I have in my cosmetic bag. I have been on a never ending journey to find the perfect mascara.
I think I have found it with Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara! Their Grow-lash Complex promotes the appearance of beautifully long, remarkably strong lashes. It combines several natural lash enhancing ingredients, including Procapil to strengthen lashes' roots and increase micro-circulation. It also includes Biotin to stimulate growth, Biotin Tripeptide to enhance the anchoring of lashes, Caffeine to enhance microcirculation and Lecithin, sodium hyaluronate and arginine to strengthen, hydrate and condition lashes. It even contains natural ingredients like Vitamin H to reinforce lashes, Karatin to renew and restore lashes and Bamboo Extract to help moisturize lashes.
Honestly, I'm not a scientist so I'm not exactly sure what all of that is. What I do know is that this mascara went on smoothly without clumping (which I cannot stand!). It separated my lashes as it lengthened them so they look fuller and more natural and it gave me the thickness and length I wanted to make my eyes really pop. According to Rimmel, lashes appear up to 80% longer and with continued use, they look up to 117% longer after just one month. Those are numbers I like!
Rimmel London Lash Accelerator should be available in chain drug stores and mass retailers nationwide. The recommended retail prices is $9.99. Rimmel London has a full line of cosmetic products. Connectwith Rimmel London on Facebook and Twitter for all their latest products.
